In a Q&A interview at the SMX Advanced conference with head of Google’s Webspam team, Matt Cutts, he talked about a new Panda 2.2 update for the Google search engine.
Google has approved the update and it will be rolled out to English searches “soon” with no date for other languages as yet mentioned.
What changes will the Panda 2.2 update include?
The new Google Panda 2.2 update will address a big complaint from webmasters – scraper websites.
After the original Google Panda/Farmer update which was meant to weed out low-quality content, webmasters noticed that scraper websites, so called for “scraping” existing content and re-publishing it as their own, were outranking the original source websites in the search engine page results (SERPs).
The new update will address this specific issue.
The original update was issued by the search quality team but Matt says that this new update will come directly from a member of his webspam team.
Matt was keen to stress that the updates are all algorithm based stating that…

We’ll bring you more news on the Panda 2.2. update after it has been rolled out.
