WordFence Monitors Realtime WordPress Attacks

Great news.  WordFence, the makers of the WordPress security firewall plugin of the same name, have launched a real-time view of attacks blocked by their software.

It’s quite mesmerising watching all the connections bounce over the world map but you have to wonder, how many WordPress websites aren’t sitting behind a good software firewall?

The data, remote and origin IPs, are collected from their firewall software plugin, WordFence, and relayed back to their real-time monitoring servers in Seattle each time an attacker is blocked.

All this data is then analysed by the team to help stop distributed coordinated attacks and strengthen future WordFence updates.

You can of course turn off the data sending feature from the WordFence > Options > “Participate in the Real-Time WordPress Security” Network setting.

We’re not affiliated with WordFence but we love the product.

Make sure that you have some sort of WordPress firewall plugin installed on your site.
